The Challenge
A software provider relied on a Windows Forms application that no longer met the needs of its users or the business. The outdated interface, lack of web capabilities, and dependence on legacy WCF services created usability, scalability, and integration bottlenecks with modern systems. Additionally, the internal team had limited web development experience, complicating efforts to modernise the platform.
The Role
As the lead consultant, I designed and implemented a solution to transition the legacy system into a responsive, web-based platform while upskilling the team and ensuring business continuity.

A Modern Front-End Framework
Designed and implemented the initial web interface using Bootstrap to create a clean, responsive, and user-friendly design.
Developed reusable UI components to speed up development and ensure consistency.
Seamless Backend Transition
Migrated legacy WCF services to RESTful APIs using the MVC framework, aligning the backend with modern integration standards.
Introduced modular, scalable architecture to support future expansion and enhancements.
Empowering the Team
Delivered training on key web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MVC, empowering the internal team to maintain and build upon the new platform.
Provided clear documentation and reusable templates to support long-term development.
Risk-Free Incremental Migration
We adopted a phased approach, ensuring the legacy system remained operational throughout the transition, minimising disruption to business processes.
